Culinary Arts – HMCHA Recognition
The Culinary Arts/Hospitality Services Management program at Drake State Technical College was recognized at the 13th Annual Huntsville/Madison County Hospitality Association (HMCHA) Pineapple Awards Dinner. The Culinary Arts/Hospitality Services Management program was presented with a certificate of recognition for its contribution to the Taste of Huntsville 2009. Through this event, the HMCHA raised a total of $27,000 for 2 charitable organizations – United Cerebral Palsy of Huntsville & Tennessee Valley, Inc. (UCP) and Kids to Love.
Mr. Tom Giles, Director of the Earlyworks Children’s Museum, praised Drake State’s Culinary Arts students for their skilled and courteous volunteer efforts at several events in the city such as The Taste of Huntsville and Keep our Lights Bright…. an evening with Thomas Edison, hosted by the Earlyworks Children’s Museum. In a show of support, HMCHA has given the program a complimentary membership for one year.
