5/9/2011
Students from Drake State brought home eleven medals from the recent SkillsUSA Leadership Conference, Career Expo and State Championships held at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. The annual event drew approximately 1800 student participants, parents, educators and employers from across the state.
The event allows students at both the high school and postsecondary levels to match skills technical disciplines such as drafting, electrical, industrial motor control, and many more. Top winners in each competition are eligible to represent Alabama in the national SkillsUSA Championship in Kansas City, Missouri, this June.
