Drake State Students Qualify for National Conference

Ten Drake State students were recognized for their business skills at the Phi Beta Lambda Business Fraternity’s State Leadership Conference recently held in Birmingham. Students from across the state participated in competitions, testing their skills in a broad range of business and career related fields. Those garnering first or second in their respective categories earn the honor to compete at the Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida this June.
The purpose of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) is to prepare post-secondary students for careers in business. The goal of the organization is to bring together business and education to develop positive working relationships through innovative leadership. At state leadership conferences, students compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills. Top state winners are then eligible to compete for national awards at the national leadership conference each summer.
The following students from Drake State were recognized for their accomplishments with the first and second place finishers earning the honor to compete at the national leadership conference:

Third place honors were awarded to Qiana James – Telecommunications, Larakesha Henley – Word Processing and Marvin Pinchon II – Financial Analysis and Decision Making. These students will serve as alternates for the national convention and competition.
