Drake State to Host Robotics Camp
Drake State will be hosting a summer robotics camp beginning July 11. The camp is open to May 2011 high school graduates as well as those who anticipate graduating from high school in 2012. The program has been designed to introduce participants to the robotics technology used in the field of advanced manufacturing. Participants will take a hands-on approach to building a model robotics assembly line, mounting and programming the robots as well as learning about the technical support required to keep the line fully operational.
The camp begins Monday, July 11 and runs Monday – Thursday from 8:30 am–
12:30 pm each day for three weeks, concluding on July 27. The program is sponsored by the Consortium for Alabama Regional Center for Automotive Manufacturing (CARCAM) in partnership with the National Science Foundation.
There is no charge to attend the camp and qualified students may be eligible for a stipend. Advance registration is required.
