Drake State Unveils New College & Career Planning System
J.F. Drake State Technical College is pleased to partner with the Huntsville City Schools and Madison County Schools to provide students with a new comprehensive online resource for college and career planning. The program allows students to build a career plan based on interests, skills and work values while they explore occupational information.
The KUDER System provides resources to assist students in identifying career opportunities which highlight their personal interests such as hobbies, educational strengths and overall career objectives. A student will create a personalized profile by answering a series of questions. The program then recommends potential career options and college programs based on these results. Additionally, the system provides access to a multitude of planning tools from information about financial aid for college to high growth employment sectors.
The partnership provides 8th – 12th grade students of the Huntsville City Schools and Madison County Schools access to the Drake State College and Career Planning System Powered by KUDER at no cost. It simply requires an access code which is available through each partner school’s guidance counseling office.
“The earlier a student can become engaged in the development of a career path, the better his chances of achieving his goals. A system like KUDER, will provide a student with the tools necessary to select the right college major to fulfill his career potential. Making the right educational investment can reap a lifetime of career satisfaction,” says, Helen McAlpine, President of Drake State.
Current Drake State students may access the program by contacting the College Placement Specialist or College Counselor located in E1 on the campus at Drake State.
