Job Placement
We, the Faculty and Staff at J.F. Drake State Technical College believe in and stand by our motto “Our Graduates Work.” To uphold this motto, WE need you, the STUDENTS to utilize all student services, including Career Placement services.
Career Placement provides assistance with the following career preparation skills:
Resume Writing
Interviewing Skills
Career Placement/Planning
Completing Job Applications
Recommendations for Potential Positions
Local job announcements are posted on the Job Announcement Bulletin Board located in Building 700 by Division/Program classification. You may also view state and national job announcements with your Career Placement Coordinator. Students interested in part- time or full-time work should register with the Career Placement Coordinator. Registration forms may be obtained from the placement office located in Building 700 Room 702A. Completed registration forms along with an updated resume remain on file for one year or until the student is employed. Students must re-register after the one-year period.
Placement also involves aiding the student in transitioning from the community college to the next educational or career objective. Attention is placed on assisting the student in choosing the senior college to which he/she plans to transfer and in meeting the requirements for that college. Although the College does not consider its function to be that of a public employment service, it is prepared to render placement service within the limitations of its purpose and resources.
