About Us

Student Support Services (SSS) is a Federal TRIO program free of cost to our participants. The program assists students with enhancing their academic skills, increasing retention and graduation rates. Our goal is the successful completion of postsecondary education.

Services

SSS supports study skills through individual instruction and group workshops each semester to aid students in academic, social, and personal growth.

Tutorial Services
Tutors are available each semester and assigned based upon the ability of the participant to benefit from tutoring, the availability of funding, and the availability of a qualified tutor.  Click the link for the current tutoring schedule and tutor contacts.

Cultural Enrichment Trips
Students will have an opportunity to visit 4-year institutions, and experience learning through cultural events and activities.

Computer Instruction Lab
Participants have the privilege of using computers reserved for their use.  We  provide state of the art computers, internet access, and a wide range of software all  available to SSS students.

Academic, Financial, and Personal Advising
Students participating in the Student Support Services program will have the opportunity to meet with our academic advisor on a range of subjects to include academic and personal  advising, and completing Buttonwood Financial Literacy and other available resources for success.  Mentoring Students who are connected and feel comfortable at an institution are more likely to graduate.  The Student Support Services (SSS) mentoring program at J.F.
